Two coasts, and two seasons that overlap. The Pacific side starts in May and sees more storms: Los Cabos was cut off for days after Odile in 2014, and Otis went from tropical storm to Category 5 in about a day before hitting Acapulco in 2023, too fast for most travellers to leave. The Caribbean side around Cancún is quieter until August, then shares the Atlantic peak — Wilma sat over that coast for more than a day in 2005.
